Banned from the airwaves: Schilling Show theme mix removed after legal threats
Due to legal threats from an enraged listener and after internal complaints, a short-lived Schilling Show theme-song revision has been yanked from the program.
A mash-up of three different versions of “Takin’ it to the Streets” (Take 6, The Doobie Brothers, Quincy Jones), the show theme features WINA station callers and in-studio guests making humorous remarks [...]
Video vilification: David Brown’s bullying pulpit
Time and time again, citizens have bemoaned abusive reception at the hands of Democrat Charlottesville City Councilors during meetings both public and private. And over the years, many residents—Democrats and Republicans alike—who may on occasion disagree with Council, have stopped attending or speaking-out at City Council meetings, fearful of a public tongue-lashing by bumptious and [...]
Guest editorial: Our future relies on our faith
Our future relies on our faith
by Hank Martin
The first four decades of recorded American history displayed extraordinary events in the birth of America. In a relatively short period, America rose up against royalty, defeated the British Empire, the mightiest upon the planet at the time, and garnered independence here in the New World. Out of [...]
TKO: Perriello vs. Del Rosso on health care reform
On April 21, 2010, after an 18 month absence, Congressman Tom Perriello returned to the “ring” (aka The Schilling Show), this time to debate a 5th district constituent, Michael Del Rosso, on the process, merits, and constitutionality of nationalized health care legislation—for which the Congressman proudly voted.
Listeners may be frustrated by Tom’s elusiveness: using “stick [...]
Progressive Progress: Daily newspaper refuses correction of wayward reporter
The Daily Progress protects its writers, even when they pilfer and even when they slant.
When the DP recently ran a Brian McNeill-authored story that contained critical and potentially misleading omissions, the newspaper’s editorial department declined to run a letter-to-the-editor (LTE) setting the writer (and the record) straight. According to the paper’s internal policy, such responses [...]

Guest editorial: Debunking Charlottesville’s climate change hysteria
Debunking Charlottesville’s climate change hysteria
by Dr. Charles Battig
The recent announcement that Ms. Cynthia Adams, Charlottesville’s Climate Protection Program Coordinator, was hired by the Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP) prompted me to re-visit the City’s “Environmental Sustainability” page. Scrolling down to the “A Green City” option, led me to the next set of options, and finally [...]
Hail to the Chief: President Obama supplants Bill of Rights in Virginia middle school
In America, and by design, “public” schools slowly have morphed into “government” schools—eschewing sovereignty through promotion of the neo-Marxist/Socialist agenda over American principles founded upon individual liberty.
This disquieting photo (see below), taken inside the office at Peabody Middle School in Petersburg, Virginia, subtly exemplifies artifacts of subversive educational indoctrination, and perhaps, institutional inscience.
The photograph shows [...]
Free speech: Liberal hippie goes ballistic at Charlottesville Tax Day Tea Party
The Jefferson Area Tea Party’s 2010 Tax Day Tea Party event was a colorful affair—with homemade signs, flags and bright attire, it was a perfect slice of American patriotism.
But the color turned “blue” when leftist”Henry Lee” tipped his teacup. The angry liberal took great offense at a conservative (Rob Schilling) daring to wear long hair, [...]
